The opportunity
We are seeking an
Earthworks Supervisor to supervise the execution of major bulk earthworks project on a mine site.
You will be responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and efficiency of the work, as well as managing the resources, equipment, and personnel.
You will also communicate with the Project Manager, the client, and other stakeholders, ensuring the project objectives are met.This is a site-based role with an international FIFO roster in which the flights, accommodations and meals will be covered.
What the role entails
- Leading the project execution and supervise the project activities running on time and in budget
- Support the Project Manager and engineering teams with progress reports
- Site Reporting to look ahead, track progress, and monitor onsite resources and costs
- Manage multiple stakeholders and contractor teams
- Ensuring all team members are engaged through a clear understanding of role accountabilities and performance measures by providing regular feedback on performance.
- Contributing to continuous improvement and optimization of site systems and assets
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with all employees and stakeholders at all key supply chain interfaces;
- Demonstration of an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development
What you will need:
- Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Extensive experience in civil and bulk earthworks projects in the mining industry
- Proven ability to successfully develop working relationships across all levels
- Detail orientation, strong planning, organisational, scheduling and coordination skills
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Knowledge of mining safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Willingness to travel and work on FIFO roster
