The Situation:

We have partnered with a global engineering and mining consultancy who are about to establish a beach head into Australia.

This business has been around for decades, they are a truly global company with over 1000 employees and are operating across mining, civil engineering & infrastructure, industrial plant and energy.

The initial growth opportunity in Australia will be mining as they are already working with a number of Tier 1 customers here.

The Australian customers that have engaged our client are well known and they can leverage the mining expertise and contacts that already exist in the business.

The type of work performed thus far is varied, including mine design and design reviews, specialist shaft scanning and surveying, mine closure, rehabilitation and geotechnical / geomechanics etc.

The client operates across multiple commodities - surface and underground.

The Role:

There are two aspects:

Technical engineering type work related to geotechnical engineering / geomechanics. You will need to be hands on and ideally have operational and consulting experience.
Growing the business. The company has the track record, clients and horsepower behind it however if you are well connected this would add a lot of value.

The position is Brisbane based and will involve some site travel, but on an ad-hoc basis.
