About the role:
Reporting to the Duty Deployment Leader, the Shift Roster Officer is an integral member of the 24/7 Deployment team.
This role involves coordinating daily roster movements for the allocated rail corridor to ensure customer contracts are met for the Coal and Bulk business units.
Training in our systems, processes and the rail industry will be provided.- Ensure train crew do not exceed fatigue limits
- Fill roster vacancies in accordance with operational requirements
- Liaise with customers regarding the arrival of their trains and consist information
- Undertake reporting as required
- Contact drivers to arrange shift changes
About you:
- Ability to engage, influence, negotiate and perform with diverse work groups, in a dynamic environment
- Ability to analyse data to optimise business processes and deployment opportunities.
- Ability to work as an effective member of a team and build relationships for results.
- Time management skills to enable the effective management of deployment and resource allocation.
- Capacity to understand the people issues and how the issues impact the business.
- High level of communication skills in providing clear and succinct verbal and written information
- Experience using logistics systems and learning new computer systems
