Our client is a not-for-profit organisation based in the inner western suburbs.

They are seeking a part time Head of Finance person to join their team for approximately 24 hours per week, flexible over 5 days.

This role will be assisting with BAU activities working closely with the CEO with financial strategies in line with the business needs.

This role would suit someone who has a broad set of experiences in Finance who could lead the function.

A preference would be if you have had experience in the not-for-profit sector to understand the different accounting responsibilities and with an understanding of credit.

You will have run the finance operation of a small to medium business, so well rounded and aspiring to be a CFO.

This role will have one person reporting to you who looks after the branch accounting.

Reporting directly to the CEO you will undertake company secretary functions, so dealing with board level and be able to write and present finance papers to the board and various sponsors will be required.


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • CPA or CA is highly preferred
  • Strong experience in a senior financial management role, preferably within the notforprofit sector
  • Strong understand of accounting principles, regulations, and best practices
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes
  • Previous experience in Company secretarial functions
  • Experience with grant and contract management, including compliance and reporting
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey financial information to all stakeholders
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools such as accounting systems, Xero, and Microsoft office products
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
