DEPARTMENT:
The Central Sterilising Service (CSS) is an integral part of Alfred Health, providing a service to The Main Alfred Hospital Operating Suite, The Alfred Centre Procedural Suite, Sandringham Hospital Operating Suite and also to the wards and other departments.
POSITION:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for permanent part-time positions in the Instrument Technician based role primarily at The Alfred Hospital, with some shift rotations to Sandringham Hospital.
Instrument Technicians work across a 24/7 roster and are responsible for the processing (from decontamination to the issuing of sterile instruments and equipment used in all areas of the hospital).
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Prior experience in CSS is necessary though not essential. You will be provided on the job training and support to develop your career.
- We offer the opportunity to enrol in a Certificate IV in Sterilisation if you have Certificate III currently.
- Good communication skills including fluent English written & oral skills (essential).
- The ability to learn new processes and tasks quickly and efficiently.
- The flexibility and availability to work a rotating roster across 24/
- Demonstrated reliability and flexibility in your previous employment.
