Infection Prevention & Control Coordinator

  • Permanent, parttime opportunity 0.9FTE
  • Hybrid working supported home and office
  • Can be based in NSW, SA, WA, VIC or QLD

The opportunity


We are looking for an experienced Infection Prevention & Control Coordinator to join our National Quality & Consumer Partnership team.


You will be ensuring the IPC program operational, translating policies into practical actions, contributing to maintaining a hygienic and infection-free environment.


Key responsibilities

The
major accountabilities of this position are:


  • To achieve Best Care, support the implementation of the Infection Prevention and Control program.
  • Participate in the review and implementation of the annual operational plan and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Support, evaluate and implement measures to mitigate and address infection risks, incidents and hazards.
  • Participate in organisational accreditation preparation and survey activities.
  • Provide coordination and support to the IPC link person program.
  • Participate at key committees and practice groups.
  • Analyse and report data as per the national quality audit schedule.
  • Participate in review and delivery of IPC related education and training.
  • Review and provide support and recommendations to staff on occupational exposure and other worker health requirements.
  • Participate and provide IPC consultation on antimicrobial stewardship activities.
  • Undertake activities to facilitate selfimprovement, education and training.

About you
Specific qualification requirements that are necessary for the role:

  • Graduate Certificate, Diploma, or Master level in an Infection Control or related field with current regulatory registration as applicable.
  • Minimum of three years of experience working in an IPC role.

Highly desirable for the role:

  • Affiliation and membership with professional IPC related association at national or international level.
  • Credentialled Infection Prevention and Control professional.
  • Understanding of IPC risks and implications in large and geographically diverse organisations.
  • Experience in undertaking and participating effectively in a team and collaborating across multidisciplinary services.
  • Experience in accreditation processes including preparation and participation.
  • Experience in leading and participating in improvement projects.
  • Experience in development, implementation and evaluation of IPC education.
  • Computer literacy.
