Our Journey


Support Services is responsible for the provision of non-clinical services that includes food services, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, central production kitchen, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services.

We are recruiting for a Patient Services Assistant to join the team at Kingston Centre and work on South 2 ward.


Patient Services Assistant - South 2 Ward
Monday and Tuesday 8.00am - 3.30pm
- (28 hours per fortnight) _


A Day in the Life


Working at Kingston Centre, your main focus in this role will be for the effective provision of patient services support.

The position incorporates cleaning and can involve patient lifting under the direction of nursing staff.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Unit cleaning
  • Transfer & cleaning of equipment
  • Delivery of patient meals
  • Patient transfers with use of equipment; bed movers and wheelchairs.
  • Use of lifting machines
  • Assisting nursing staff as requested

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills to provide a personable approach to our patients and visitors at Monash Health.
  • A proactive approach and a team player

What you Need:


  • Certificate III Health Services Assistant (Essential)
  • Previous patient services assistant experience within a healthcare setting (Desirable)
  • Excellent understanding of patient identification procedures.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow written instructions and procedures
  • Able to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
  • Excellent understanding of cleaning methodologies and infection control procedures
  • Ability to work with a cohesive team or individually to complete daily tasks
  • Basic to intermediate digital literacy
