Our client is a leading global fund manager that is seeking an experienced Quantitative investment modelling, ESG and Research professional to join their team.


This unique role will focus on supporting the new established Policy & Strategy team to develop a new quantitative financial model to assess the potential impacts of changes to ESG policies and legislation on the portfolio over the short and long term (30+ years).


You will have the ability to help shape the long term ESG and investment policy strategy within the firm, with an emphasis on quantitative analysis.


Activities critical to this role include:

  • Researching and quantitively analysing public policy options, especially at the intersection of sustainability and unlisted investments, providing analysis and assisting in the provision of advice to the broader business including the investment team.
  • Developing models to undertake scenario analysis, stress testing and cost benefit analysis etc. which will then be applied to a policy setting.
  • Conducting research, writing, and consultation in connection with ESG and public policy, with an emphasis on sustainability matters;
  • Organising and analysing quantitative information pertaining to sustainable investment and that will support internal and external policy;

Ideal Experience and Qualifications:


  • Tertiary qualification in Quantitative Analysis, Economics, Investments, Mathematics, ESG/Sustainability, Actuarial, Engineering or other Finance related field;
  • Strong working knowledge of economic analysis or financial analysis, data management, and indepth financial model development (including scenario analysis, stress testing, cost benefit analysis etc. within an investment context);
  • Data collection, understanding of relevant data sets and qualitative research;
  • Intermediate to advanced coding skills (may include any of Python, R, SQL, VBA etc.) to assist with database management & scenario model development;
  • Interest in assessing ESG and sustainability issues from a quantitative standpoint;
  • Understanding of pension funds and institutional investors, funds management industry, and civil society linkages with notforprofit pension and superannuation funds and other memberfocused organisations.
