About The Sugery Centre Operating suite:

The Surgery Centre Operating suite on the Repat campus includes 8 Operating Rooms, 2 Endoscopy Rooms, a 12 bay Recovery unit with a Satellite ward for day cases and a surgical ward for multi night patients.

We perform over 12,000 procedures per year.

The service provides a broad range of elective surgical procedures including Orthopaedics, UGI/HPB, ENT, Plastics, Ophthalmic, Colorectal, MFS, Vascular, Urology, and Endoscopy procedures.


About the role:


The purpose of the Theatre technician is to provide assistance to the surgical team, which includes surgeons, nursing, and anaesthesia staff, to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients and to perform the duties of this position efficiently using a team approach to the standards of the department.


Key responsibilities will see you:

  • Support a philosophy of care, which is patient focused, where care is integrated from preadmission to postdischarge, and where the family is welcome in the carer's team
  • Assist with medical and diagnostic procedures carried out within the operating theatres
  • Ensure the wellbeing and safety of patients by following the values and principles, which underpin best practice in relation to patient, care, and education and patient rights
  • Achieve and maintain the skills necessary, through personal professional development, to plan, prioritize and implement holistic patient care

About you:


You will be someone who enjoys working as a part of a supportive team committed to excellence in patient care.

You'll have an interest in self-development and education, and actively seek out opportunities to grow your skillset.


You'll further have:

  • Cert IV in Operating Theatre Technical Support
  • Previous clinical experience as a theatre technician
  • A commitment to quality, best practice and environmental safety
  • The ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form
