What is the opportunity?


We are recruiting for a Business Relationship Specialist with comprehensive expertise and knowledge of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) business communities to join the Business Customer Service team in Service for Business.


We are a team that supports the businesses of NSW to start, run and grow, and adapt and recover in times of change.

We do this by providing businesses with a central place to connect with NSW Government support and services and source the information they need.

Our services include in person, over the phone and digital.


About the role


In this new and exciting role, you will provide specialist advice, and support the delivery and implementation of culturally informed, effective business engagement strategies by proactively engaging and collaborating with the business community and industry stakeholders across NSW.


As part of the role, you will:

  • Provide input and insights of the opportunities and challenges faced by culturally and linguistically diverse businesses to support engagement strategies, tasks and projects to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Facilitate presentations, workshops and roadshows to a range of key stakeholders and business groups across NSW
  • Establish, build and nurture collaborative and engaging relationships through effective communication to ensure customer needs are identified and addressed
  • Support optimum customer service, by addressing any complex issues efficiently and effectively.

Other key tasks

  • Provide specialist advice to support customer outcomes
  • Regularly engage with business communities with the aim of processing feedback and impact to identify and address customer's specific needs
  • Conduct presentations, training and information sessions to increase awareness of various specialty business programs, initiatives and services
  • Engage with businesses in culturally informed ways to ensure effective and culturally aware participation
  • Support the identified specialist area strategy and develop collaborative approaches to policy, project and program delivery with internal and external stakeholders including coordinating workshops, meetings, digital services and other business initiatives to maximise business owners/operators' participation and uptake

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • The ability to engage with the unique nature of culturally and linguistically diverse communities through empathy and an understanding of the respect of culture
  • Patience and the motivation to understand, then seek to serve
  • Current driver's licence and a willingness to travel at short notice including overnight stays when required
  • Relevant specialised industry/business qualifications and/or experience
  • Experience working with, or owning, small business
  • A genuine passion and aptitude for building and maintaining positive relationships with customers and stakeholders
  • A keen interest to keep abreast of current challenges to businesses for various industries
  • Previous experience in facilitating workshops or presentations will be highly regarded
  • Fluent in speaking Arabic is strongly desirable

About Service NSW


Service NSW for Business is a division of Service NSW which provides one front door for businesses to access information and support available from the NSW Government.

The team's mandate is to help businesses, start, run, grow and adapt.

The team provides metropolitan and regional frontline support to businesses and councils across NSW, a suite of digital tools and products and messaging for businesses.


Remuneration
Service NSW Grade 7/8 salary package starts from $95,136, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
