The 'Youth Team Leader' will manage the operational requirements of a youth services program, an exciting initiative aimed at improving the safety and well-being of children, young people, and families in the community.

The program was designed to decrease the likelihood of homelessness and increase the living skills, resilience, education, and overall well-being of young people

.

Role responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a small team of staff to deliver quality evidencebased and traumainformed services
  • Nurture a 'riskaware' culture by taking a practical approach to mentoring staff to monitor for safety and proactively identify risk to clients and staff
  • Support compliance with incident management, reporting and escalation requirements meeting mandatory reporting, child protection, safeguarding and WHS standards
  • Support the EO through regular reporting, assisting with budgeting and ensure organisational goals are reached.
  • Approve program processes and implement quality control practices and client service and proactively develop innovative program and operational improvements
  • Carry a small caseload of service delivery, including casework, group work, or outreach services

Essential Requirements

  • A degreelevel qualification in Social Work, Psychology or a related field
  • 23 years of leadership experience, as well as extensive knowledge and experience in Child Protection and engaging with young people with complex backgrounds
  • Extensive casework experience in developing, managing, and implementing quality community and group work programs
  • Highlevel ability to manage staff in a collaborative and supportive way, team budgeting, and uphold consistent standards and processes
  • Strong IT skills and ability to operate within a paperless business
  • Experience in proactively responding to internal and external crises and delivering timely and effective solutions
  • Hold a valid driver's license and own an insured vehicle the role will involve some travel
