About the role:

We are looking for an experienced Heavy Container Forklift Operator to join our team on a permanent basis.

This is a critical role within the warehouse, ensuring not only the safe movement of containers which are stacked up to 4 high, but via the most efficient means through our industry leading Warehouse Management System.

There are two sealed yards, both have covered and uncovered areas and work at high-capacity levels. This is a fast-paced environment that requires a steady, safe, and methodical decision maker.

Under the guidance of the Warehouse Manager who is keen to bring in fresh eyes from an expert who can impact the operational efficiency of the depot now and into the future.

Some of what you will be doing:

Working closely with the warehouse manager and schedulers to ensure trucks are loaded and unloaded within acceptable timeframes.
Safely drive and operate equipment adhering to all safety requirements, ensuring your safety and the safety of others is always front of mind
Efficiently and effectively allocate containers to specific locations and load/unload accordingly using the Warehouse Management System
Ensure effective and timely communication to staff for smooth movement and safe operations

About you:

What else we hope you have:

Experience in container park operations within a high volume fast-paced environment
Any exposure in handling & stacking Shipping or Rail containers would be highly preferred.
Demonstrated commitment to safety
Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
A positive attitude and approachable manner
Have a proactive approach to continuous improvement
