As a Fruit & Veg Picker and Packer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the freshness and quality of our produce by accurately selecting, picking, and packing fruits and vegetables for distribution.

Working in a fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for efficiently gathering products from designated areas, inspecting them for quality, and carefully packaging them to maintain freshness and prevent damage during transportation.

• Receive picking lists or orders and review them to identify the fruits and vegetables to be picked and packed.
• Navigate through designated areas, such as refrigerated storage rooms or produce aisles, to locate the specified items.
• Inspect fruits and vegetables for freshness, ripeness, and quality, discarding any damaged or spoiled items.
• Carefully handle and pack fruits and vegetables into appropriate containers or packaging, ensuring they are arranged neatly and securely.
• Label packages accurately with product information, including type, quantity, and any special instructions.
• Assemble mixed fruit and vegetable orders according to customer preferences or specifications.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the picking and packing areas, including clearing away debris, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of packaging materials.
• Monitor inventory levels and report any shortages or discrepancies to supervisors.
• Operate equipment such as pallet jacks or hand trucks safely and efficiently to transport products within the facility.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and deadlines.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and quality standards to ensure the freshness and safety of the produce.
• Follow all company policies and procedures related to safety, hygiene, and proper handling of fruits and vegetables.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience working in a foodrelated environment, such as a grocery store, market, or warehouse, is preferred.
• Knowledge of different types of fruits and vegetables, including their varieties, ripening stages, and storage requirements, is advantageous.
• Ability to work in a refrigerated environment and tolerate cold temperatures.
• Attention to detail and ability to identify and sort produce based on quality standards.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on production needs.
• Commitment to food safety practices and hygiene standards.
• Basic math skills for counting, sorting, and recording inventory.
