About the Role:
The EL 1 Procurement and Contracts (Labour Hire) is accountable under broad direction to undertake very complex work that delivers quality outcomes across the procurement functions of the business.
The position is an important team leadership position within the business and will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across wide-ranging activities of substantial depth involving significant detail.
The role requires providing leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision-making for the Team Membership and assigned Contractors working within the work area.
The EL 1 Procurement and Contracts (Labour Hire) will exercise a considerable degree of independence to engage in very complex problem-solving and issues management within the procurement and contract management functions.
Responsibilities of the Role include but are not limited to:
- Consult and collaborate with internal stakeholders and business areas, providing a combined education and business intelligence function to identify upcoming issues that require action, further advice or forward planning.
- Work collaboratively with business areas as a procurement business partner, and manage a team to develop market approach documentation, evaluate tenders and negotiate contracts.
- Lead an integrated approach to identify procurement requirements early in the process, including supporting the planning activities within the wider team.
- Manage regular policy and process reviews for continuous business improvement in order to benefit the business clients and improve procurement business partnerships. Ensure corporate contracts are managed effectively and deliver valueformoney outcomes.
Key Skills:
- Previous procurement experience.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Ability to engage with, manage, and influence stakeholders. Leadership skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Government agency or Department experience. Proactively mentor and manage staff, and collaboratively work with a variety of teams.
