NOW HIRING a Design Coordinator | A brand that is dedicated to the philosophy of simplicity and supporting sustainability, using noble fibers that pay homage to Australian Craftmanship. This role is a vital, working closely with the Creative Director to create product aligned with the brand vision from design concept to final sample.


The Design Coordinator is a key stakeholder in the business, managing the workload of the inhouse production team to create prototype samples, giving clear handovers to the Production Team, and supporting the Marketing and Operations functions as needed.


Key responsibilities:


  • Ensure critical path deadlines are met to support the company in deliver product on time and in full
  • Assist the Creative Director in conducting seasonal trend research
  • Sourcing fabric that meets the briefs of the Creative Director and margin requirements of the business
  • Design product ranges that meet the White Story image, and product mix and margin strategies
  • Create accurate technical sketches and design briefs for the Patternmaker
  • Creation and maintenance of all design boards including range boards, mood boards and fabric boards
  • Quantification and ordering of bulk fabric, ensuring it arrives in line with the critical path to and achieves margin goals
  • Managing fabric inventory and documentation including invoicing and filing
  • Organise and run fit sessions, capturing all comments, and communicating to the patternmaker, sample machinist and production team as required
  • Handover of confirmed styles to the Production Team in line with the critical path
  • Liaise with local and offshore suppliers and manufacturers, with the goal to build strong partnerships and successful outcomes for both parties
  • Lead offshore product development from initial technical pack, through to costing, fit comments, and QA, placing bulk orders and ensuring ontime delivery

skills and attributes required:


  • Previous experience in a fashion design role within Womenswear
  • 510 years of experience in the industry
  • Highly proficient in Illustrator, InDesign & Photoshop
  • Ability to create accurate technical sketches
  • Excellent fabric knowledge and experience in sourcing
  • Indepth garment construction knowledge
  • Highly organised with excellent time management skills to manage and deliver in line with the business calendar
  • Experience in designing and developing cohesive ranges across all product categories
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and problemsolving abilities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced and hands on environment
