Permanent Full Time- Canberra
- Annual Salary : $90,000 $150,000 + Super
Looking for enthusiastic Environmental & Sustainability professionals to join a top-tier construction company, working on major Civil projects across Canberra.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote compliance and excellence in environmental matters and challenge the project to achieve exceptional standards.
- Compliance with EPA approvals and environmental conditions on the Project
- Onsite coordination of environmental management, monitoring, and compliance, implementation, and tracking of sustainability data and initiatives, and emissions reporting.
- Implement best practiceenvironmental management, and help the project achieve a great sustainability rating with industryleading emissions reductions.
- Record keeping/data management will need to be meticulous.
- Undertake environmental assessments/inspections of subcontractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with the contract requirements.
- Assist with writing and implementation of the environmental management plans and ensuring controls are maintained for the project.
- Preparation and Updates to environmental registers/templates.
- Review of Baseline data against current project data.
- Once into the delivery phase, you will be responsible for monitoring requirements, data modeling, reporting, and environmental inspections on site.
- Water monitoring including onsite testing in line with client requirements
- Dewatering monitoring/management for construction works.
- Soil management and sampling, including contamination and acid sulfate soil areas.
- Dust and noise/vibration monitoring to be reviewed (online platform) and conduct onsite maintenance/inspection requirements of monitoring stations.
- Management of Flora and fauna, and heritage indigenous and European.
- Reporting on environmental performance and risks of the project to the Manager and wider team.
- Review completed environmental records to ensure they verify compliance with specified requirements.
- Provide environmental advice to supervisors, inspectors, project management, other employees, and personnel working on the project or area.
About you
- Mandatory to your role, will be your wellrounded environmental and/ or sustainability skills and experience, including your technical knowledge and experience (or willingness to learn and improve) with broad areas such as water quality monitoring and management, soil and erosion control management.
- You will have a high level of communication skills (both written and verbal), work collaboratively, and be a team player.
- Having a good general knowledge of construction and project development is highly preferable.
Qualifications: Engineering (Civil or Environmental), Environmental Science, Sustainability, or Similar
