The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority, and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state.
The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 per cent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year.

The Koori Family Violence Principal Practitioner provides expert knowledge and guidance on family violence in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in the context of the Courts and its practice when engaging with court users.
The role is responsible for leading family violence centred practice and culture for the Koori Family Violence Unit that integrates evidence from research, consistent court practices, best practice, the Dhelk Dja action plan and the Aboriginal Justice Agreement.
The Koori Family Violence Principal Practitioner will provide support and leadership to Koori Family Violence Practice Managers and Practitioners across Victoria, whilst developing and leading the continuous improvement of the MCV practice response to family violence in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities across Victoria.
The Koori Family Violence Principal Practitioner will also play a lead role contributing to the ongoing reform of family violence services in Magistrates' Courts across Victoria.
About you
Applicants with substantial experience in family violence, criminal justice, community welfare or related areas but without formal qualifications will be considered for this role.
