Environmental Service Assistant

Multiple Full time and Part Time Positions available

About the Role

The Patient Service Assistant is responsible in providing a safe, clean Ward/Unit environment in accordance with Infection Control and Occupational Safety and Health regulations.
Under direction and supervision, you will provide effective support contributing to the operational management of the hospital.
You will be expected to deliver excellent customer service and be required to assist in stock maintenance and control.

Other duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to.

Perform all
waste management tasks, decontaminate all bins, and securely manage the
Clinical Waste:
Perform all cleaning tasks, including decontamination of beds and cleaning of Wards and equipment
Perform all "Management of Patient" movements within the hospital.
Support the organisations environmental goals in performance of all duties.
Assisting nursing staff with lifting/positioning patients (as required) and bed making.
Identifies risks and hazards and reports promptly to ensure that safety measures are maintained.
Flexibility to work across a sevenday
rotating roster is essential for this role.
Perform other adhoc duties as required and requested by management such as assist inhouse laundry

About You

To succeed in this role, you will be selfmotivated and work effectively under the direction of the Environmental Services Team Leader.
You will demonstrate a good work ethic that includes punctuality, integrity, respect for others, and a commitment to professional practice.
Experience in a Hospitality/ Healthcare Cleaning and use of correct waste management streams
High level of knowledge and understanding of material data safety sheets.
Commitment to exceed customer satisfaction.
Sound time management, effective communication, and interpersonal skills.
High level of personal presentation and adhering to uniform policy.
Knowledge and understanding of Manual Handling principles, Occupational Safety and Health practices, Infection Control and Housekeeping Protocols, including usage of cleaning equipment.
Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required.

Remuneration
Will be based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.
