About the Role

As the Communications Manager, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies that engage, motivate and inform the Dan Murphy's team to support the overall business strategy.

This role is central to fostering a positive culture, and promoting a sense of community and connection amongst our team


You'll be responsible for managing a Communications Specialist, partnering with our Endeavour communications team, collaborating across the business, and executing internal communications across a variety of channels.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing comprehensive internal communication strategies that align with Dan Murphy's overall business objectives.
  • Lead the delivery of clear, concise and purposeful communications through targeted mediums that support our team's understanding of the business strategy and connect to our brand.
  • Manage the internal profile and communications plan of Dan Murphy's Leadership team, notably the Managing Director.
  • Partner cross functionally with the People and Marketing teams to define the 'tone of voice' in our communications, ensuring this is aligned to our EVP and the Dan Murphy's brand.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key internal stakeholders.
  • Plan and deliver key annual activations including Christmas & Strategy Roadshows, internal town halls and events that connect our teams across the business to the Dan Murphy's and Endeavour Group strategies.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure consistent messaging and brand identity across all touchpoints.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of internal communications, making recommendations and improvements to enhance the effectiveness of all communications.

About You

To succeed in this role, you'll need to be energetic, connected and foster 'big picture' thinking, with the ability to think strategically and deliver relevant, interesting content.

This role will suit someone who is a natural storyteller, with excellent time management skills and the ability to work with and communicate at all levels of the organisation.


  • Experience in an internal communications role, with proven experience developing and implementing internal communications strategies.
  • Experience creating and distributing internal communications and management employee engagement programs.
  • Prior experience in people leadership, within a communications related role.
  • An established understanding of best practice in internal communications, including the use of technology and social media.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to use and interpret data to measure and evaluate communications channels/initiatives.
  • Experience working in a matrix organisation, collaborating across multiple functions and between a business and centre of expertise.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A Bachelors Degree in communication, journalism, marketing, PR or a related field is highly desirable.
