Description
We are currently assisting a Government Owned Corporation based in Queensland, in sourcing a Data Migration Specialist proficient in data migration, end-to-end program / project delivery, as well as ETL workflow design and development.
As a Data Migration Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth transition of data from legacy systems to modern platforms.
The environment is complex and diverse and requires a technical background.
The role is ideally suited to someone who has:
Five or more years' experience in a Data Analysis role in large, complex environments;
End-to-end program and project delivery experience;
Operating in a Program Delivery Stream under a matrix structure;
Ability to engage with business and technical SMEs gather the correct information and critically evaluate requirements; and
Proven experience in working with vendors to deliver customised solutions.
Role Responsibilities:
Some of the responsibilities anticipated as part of this engagement include:
Data Assessment and Mapping:
Evaluate existing data sources, identify gaps and create comprehensive data maps;
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications;
ETL Development:
Design and develop ETL workflows using tools such as Azure Data Factory (ADF), SSIS, KingswaySoft, or custom scripts;
Extract data from various sources (on-premise databases, cloud) and transform it to meet target system requirements into Microsoft D365 Dataverse;
Extract documents from the various sources to Dataverse / SharePoint;
Ensure data integrity, accuracy and consistency during migration;
Quality Assurance:
Perform data validation and reconciliation to verify successful migration;
Identify and address data anomalies, inconsistencies and errors;
Documentation:
Maintain detailed documentation of data migration processes, including data lineage, transformation rules and error handling procedures.
Selection Criteria:
Essential Criteria
Demonstrated strong knowledge of Data Analysis for large and / or complex environments;
Demonstrated strong stakeholder management skills with proven ability to engage with technical resources, senior execute team and external vendors / partners;
Demonstrated strong SQL skills;
Ability to elicit business information from others, document and present it clearly articulating issues and proposed solutions, in a dynamic / changing environment;
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written communication skills) with business and technical stakeholders, senior management and project team members; and
Experience with data migration into D365 Dataverse.
Desirable Criteria
Experience and knowledge of the Energy Industry;
Experience and knowledge working with similar data footprints (e.g. Customer Information Systems, CRM, Meter Data Management systems, Billing Systems);
Demonstrated experience working on projects leveraging a variety of development / delivery methodologies;
Ability to work with Microsoft SQL;
Experience in:
Working on a Distribution business;
Modernisation of customer-facing technologies (such as CRM, CCT, and Portals);
Modernisation of billing technologies;
Experience in document migration:
Extracting from Salesforce and SQL Server;
Loading into Dataverse / SharePoint;
Experience using tools Azure Data Factory (ADF), SSIS, KingswaySoft.
Duration:
6-month contract.
Reporting Structure:
The role will report to the Foundation Infrastructure Lead.
