About the Role and You
We are looking for a Level 2 and a Level 3 Family/Carer Peer Worker to be a part of our Emergency Department Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drug Response Service.
The Emergency MH, AOD, Allied and Peer (EMAAP) Team is focused on assisting consumers and their families navigate through the emergency department and also support linkages to further supports in the community.
Monash Health has an established peer workforce of over 40 staff employed across our inpatient, community, and emergency department teams.
Peer workers are all provided with discipline-specific supervision and professional development opportunities including internal and external training, co-reflection groups, and a regular Mental Health Lived Experience workforce forum.
Location
The position will be based at Monash Medical Centre Emergency Department.

- Previous employment in Family/Carer Peer Role
- Previous experience providing supervision and leadership
- Must have own personal experience caring for someone with lived experience of mental ill health
- Understanding of the Carers Recognition Act 201
