APS6 Funding Arrangement Manager & Team Leader.
***This position is located in their busy Sydney office for an initial

contract until 30/06/2024.

About the Position

The role is with a small team responsible involving stakeholder engagement and management of individual grants, both State wide and nationally.

The team supports a number of high profile/complex grants and a key policy priority. Achieving key stakeholder relationships are critical to ensure departmental goals.

This department deals with issues in New South Wales that are complex, high profile and regularly under media scrutiny:

  • Three nation-wide programs are managed by the NSW FSG team.
  • High profile grant recipients.
  • Ongoing/regular support to the provider and relevant policy teams.
  • The grants have heightened exposure to sensitive issues.
  • This work carries the attention from the Minister and the Policy Branch Manager.

Duties

The team leader roles, reporting to an EL1 manager, will be responsible for the supervision of small teams (2 direct reports) in the NSW & ACT State Network Branch.


  • Supervise a team, implementing work plans for the work area including setting tasks and priorities, and managing work flow.
  • Coordinate provider risk assessment and risk management activities for a project or program.
  • Support the management of complex and/or higher risk service agreements, and ensure compliance and escalation of sensitive issues.
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders to achieve work area and agency goals.
  • Represent the agency by promoting its interests at community and crossagency levels.
  • Build and share information and local intelligence and maintain working relationships with the hub and within the department nationally.
  • Identify possible solutions to complex issues and provide clear and accurate advice to senior staff.

  • Represent the department in forums, meetings and consultations.
  • Work collaboratively to manage funding arrangements, seek opportunities to improve service provider performance and system processes.
  • Maintain a knowledge of relevant legislation.
  • Manage complex and sensitive issues.

Requirements/Skills

Australian Citizenship required for security clearance.
