Retirement Living Administrator

Full Time 9am-5pm Monday to Friday


The Retirement Living Administrator is responsible for providing a high standard of administrative support and assistance to Village Management and the Activities and Lifestyle Coordinator.


We are looking for an experienced administrator with desktop publishing skills to join the Retirement Living team based at Anzac Village ('War Vets') in Narrabeen.

The role is varied and can be demanding at times, but it is also rewarding with the ability to make a meaningful difference to residents' lives and wellbeing.


We are looking for someone who is a team player with a sense of humour but who can also work independently and proactively and prides themselves on their professionalism and high quality of work.

Your involvement in the wide variety of events and activities organised each day means that you are not desk-bound and every day is different so flexibility is important.

Primary Responsibilities


General/Administrative- Provide high quality administrative support to the Village Management team- Update and modify records and databases as required- Meet with residents on move in day and take them through essential information including evacuation and emergency call system procedures- Conduct outgoing inspections with resident/family and complete all tasks and documentation related to this process- Assist Village Management in the creation and content of high-quality resident communications- Maintain documentation for emergency management and ensure information is accurate and current- Work closely with the Village Managers on projects as and when required.

- Administrative support for the annual Work, Health and Safety audits- Provide cover for the Retirement Living Reception team and Activities Co-ordinator for holidays and sickness- Assist in physical distribution of resident communications

Activities, Events and Monthly Newsletter- Create content for the monthly resident newsletter- Co-ordinate resident and staff contributions to the monthly newsletter- Liaise with external printer and ensure timely distribution to residents- Create flyers and posters for newsletter and notice boards using Canva- Support and work with Activities and Lifestyle Co-ordinator in the organisation of resident activities and events in the Village, including liaising with external providers, booking meeting rooms and organising refreshments- Support the event co-ordination of larger Village events, particularly Anzac Day and Remembrance Day services, as well as annual dinner/dance, art show and market day- Accompany residents from time to time on outings and trips outside of the Village

Qualifications:

No formal qualifications required. Demonstrable work experience applicable to the role is necessary.

  • Advanced computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel,PowerPoint and Outlook) and other workbased systems
  • Experience creating/editing newsletters and writing content
  • Demonstrable experience in desktop publishing eg. Publisher, Canva, Indesign or similar.
  • Strong written and verbal English literacy skills
  • Proactive, selfmotivated and able to work efficiently and independently as a key team member
  • Strong time management and organisational skills and able to communicate and
- seek direction when conflicting priorities arise
  • High attention to detail
  • Able to work with sensitive and confidential information
  • Demonstrated compassion, tolerance, patience and empathy for aged people and an
- understanding of their needs
  • Driver's licence essential
  • Willingness to undertake a police check and attend first aid course
