Purpose of Role:


For more than 70 years, BD Life Sciences - Specimen Management has advanced the science of specimen collection to help laboratory tests become the foundation for up to 70% of all medical decisions.


Today, the gold standard in sample collection is the BD Vacutainer product family, which hospitals and laboratories rely on to enhance their sample quality and protect their nurses, phlebotomists and other caregivers from accidental needlestick injuries.

These products, backed by unrivalled customer support and training, help enhance lab productivity and workflow by reducing retests, recollects and instrument downtime.

Responsibilities:


  • Achievement of revenue, gross profit, and market share targets for the Specimen Management (SM) portfolio in your territory
  • Develop and execute territory & account strategies and plans aligned to the Specimen Management ANZ marketing plan.
  • Maintain responsibility for all accounts in the specified territory.
  • Provide market intelligence reports e.g., competitive activity, product assessment & informal market surveys.
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge of Specimen Management to support the sales efforts.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with each customer account to monitor customer service and support, and potential sales opportunities.
  • Serve as the customer point of contact for technical related queries.
  • In alignment with the business strategy, provide product training, clinical procedure training and technical assistance to customers as required, utilising relevant educational and training resources.
  • Tailor, plan for and coordinate education programs to meet individual customer requirements to support product trials and implementations. Engage internal and external stakeholders to deliver on plan.
  • Maintain uptodate knowledge of prevailing pathology practices, scientific discoveries and emerging competitor technology pertaining to their respective product portfolios.
  • Demonstrate the use and advantage of the technology, conduct product demonstrations and evaluations with prospective customers.
  • Contribute to tender submissions by providing technical/customer information as required.
  • Compliance to SFDC guidelines including documentation of events and single sales objectives.
  • Spend 80% minimum in the field working with the key accounts building and maintain uptodate understanding of the customer organization its businesses, people and future initiatives.


Additional Remarks- The role demands an ability to impart technical and clinical information while maintaining presence and vitality within the training and clinical environment.- The person who functions in this role must have tenacity and be highly self-motivated.

This person will also demonstrate self-learning and be abreast of current issues in the health care arena.- As part of the Sales and Clinical team this person needs to have a good sense of the commercial picture and the desire to be part of a team as well as a flexible approach to satisfying customer needs.


Knowledge and Experience- Proven track record of success in sales, particularly in the medical device industry.- Demonstrated ability to meet and achieve sales targets.- Experience in technical selling, including understanding complex products and effectively communicating their value propositions to customers.- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills, with the ability to navigate complex sales cycles and close deals.- Experience in providing technical support, training, and education to customers.- Proactive attitude and ability to work independently, with a drive to continuously learn and improve.
