Your future role:


Alstom has an opportunity for an EHS & Rail Safety Advisor with a rail construction EHS delivery background to join our business in delivery of Alstom's scope on the TfNSW Digital Systems Project on a Full Time basis.

Although based out of our North Ryde office, the position is located in Sydney City, NSW.


We'll look to you for:


  • Writing the technical aspects of procedures and forms to develop and maintain the EHS & Rail Safety management plans for the Projects
  • Establishing a comprehensive project safety governance process to undertake regular formal reviews of the EHS & Rail Safety Management Plans and KPIs
  • Supporting key safety governance committees as required including the Project Safety Leadership Team
  • Being proactively involved in deploying Safety programs in order to achieve objectives and drive continuous improvement across the function.
  • Establishing and maintaining an annual EHS and Rail Safety audit program as part of the overall Compliance Audit Program and preparation of key reports for the Project
  • Ensuring that the Safety Management System is well maintained and in line with required standards
  • Reviewing and testing the various emergency plans and delivery of Safety induction training
  • Prioritising accidents/incidents are first prevented, and if occurring writing thorough reports, recording the incident, ensuring this has been investigated and analysed
  • Participating in the Alstom EHS & Rail Safety audit and accreditation program, including AS4801/ISO accredited EHS management system

All about you:


  • Tertiary qualifications in health, safety, environment
  • Rail, infrastructure or heavy industrial construction project experience in a similar role
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of local legal and regulatory health and safety requirements
  • Initiative, drive and resilience, with the ability to influence people at all levels within the operations
  • Strong knowledge of safe working systems, rules and procedures
  • Willingness to work occasional weekends and nightshift
  • WHS Auditor or Lead Auditor would be advantageous
