An enthusiastic person is required to fill the permanent full time role of Allied Health Assistant at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital.

This is a busy role delivering allied health therapies and tasks independently at the direction of a qualified Allied Health Professional.

What you'll be doing


This role is a shared Allied Health Assistant role, however, will sit with and report via the Speech Pathology Department.

The role will predominantly focus on providing allied health therapies (Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy) in the rehabilitation ward and stroke unit, however, can be used as the delegating profession requires within their allocated time.

The position provides daily assistance with showering and self care on the rehabilitation ward as well as a range of delegated therapies.

They will also assist with administration tasks to support the patient and departments.


_People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply._

  • Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or willingness to undertake this training or other qualification deemed equivalent by NSLHD.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the role of an Allied Health Assistant within a large organisation. Ability to work independently under the delegation of an AHP and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
