About the branch and role
The Commercial, Property & Technology (CP&T) Branch advises government clients in relation to a wide range of transactions with the private sector and other government agencies.
Many of these contractual arrangements involve substantial financial commitments by government, and the provision of significant new public infrastructure or services to clients.
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Paralegal to join our CP&T Branch and contribute to government land & property transactions in a supportive team environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide general support to the CPT branch
- Assist with research, assembly and drafting of significant or complex advices, briefs, transaction and court documents
- Assist in the provision of conveyancing services to government clients using digital platforms such as PEXA and SPEAR, for conveyancing transactions such as purchase, sale and mortgages of land, refinancing arrangements, land subdivisions, easement creation, title dispositions, caveat lodging and removal files
- Interpret and analyse property documents
- Provide support to other conveyancing and property team members and colleagues from other Branches in relation to property issues as required
Skills and experience
- Prior experience in a legal office environment
- Prior Property Paralegal or Conveyancing experience will be considered
- Experience working with PEXA and SPEAR electronic conveyancing and lodging platforms is beneficial but not required
- The ability to communicate effectively and maintain relationships with stakeholders of all levels
- Selfstarter who takes initiative and has the ability to operate autonomously and in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- High attention to detail with a commitment to service excellence
