Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to lead and contribute to the provision of a safe and compliant-built environment for staff and clients at CSIRO.

As our Manager Assets and Compliance, you will play a vital role in ensuring optimal asset performance and value for money, while also leading the development and ongoing monitoring of compliance and asset auditing services.


You will support the Executive Manager Assets and Compliance in developing systems and processes to continually improve contract management and compliance auditing across the portfolio.


Your duties will include:


  • Oversee and direct the development, implementation and ongoing management of a compliance program for CSIRO, in its built form, in collaboration with relevant CBIS Managers. The Compliance program will ensure all facets of facilities management and maintenance are compliant with all relevant standards and legislation, ensuring records of testing and compliance are maintained as well as aligning services to comply with all relevant Standards, Building Codes, Accreditation, and Legislative Requirements.
  • Lead and undertake consultation and research processes to scope and define CBIS's Asset portfolio compliance obligations.
  • Undertake risk profile analysis in consultation with key stakeholders to clearly identify high risk assets.
  • Development of the CBIS Asset Compliance Strategy in consultation with the Assets and Compliance team and other key stakeholders with the outcome to clearly articulate CBIS's asset risk profile and strategies to approach compliance.
  • Leverage and influence internal and external stakeholder relationships to engage stakeholders in their respective asset lifecycle management responsibilities and compliance management by way of effective communication, education, negotiation and issues management.
  • Collaborate with the Space and Asset Management (SAMS) and Contracts teams to ensure high risk assets are recorded in SAMS and are actioned by the Contracts team in terms of appropriate treatment and that maintenance regimes are applied by Operations teams and Contractors.
  • Participate in the management of compliance requirements for CBIS including research and advisory function of regulatory requirements, policy directives and standards to be placed in contracts by the Contracts team as well as providing advice to relevant internal stakeholders.

Monitor compliance with:

  • Legislative, OGTR and other governing authorities' requirements.
  • CSIRO procedures including Finance, Procurement, Health Safety & Environment (HSE) including contractor security clearances, inductions and similar activities that may have an impact on site and personnel operations, safety and the environment.

Salary:
AU$121,45- AU$142,321 plus up to 15.4% superannuation

To be considered you will need:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in asset management or related discipline and/or equivalent relevant work experience in asset, facilities and compliance management.
  • Experience and ability in governing compliance management processes for multiple complex highrisk assets in a diverse property portfolio context across all States and Territories.
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulation, codes and recommendations across all States and Territories associated with plant and equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to accept responsibility and be accountable for compliance activities in accordance with relevant time, cost, quality, statutory and user satisfaction requirements.
  • Extensive experience in assets and compliance management, in an asset maintenance context across multiple facilities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge/experience and appreciation of relevant procedures/protocols, compliance and statutory requirements associated with Federal, State and Local Government building and services codes and regulations and Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements that may be applicable to personnel operations and safety and security at CSIRO's research facilities.
  • Proven interpersonal skills including sound negotiation and written and oral communication skills and an ability to cultivate productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, landlords, tenants and service providers.
