About the opportunity
Sitting in a team of 11 and part of a broader team of 22, as a Trustee Specialist, you'll deal with death, terminal illness and total and permanent disability claims made by our members.
You'll be taking and making some tough calls from members, their relatives and lawyers and having to review and assess some challenging circumstances, but we'll be sure to give you all the right training to make sure you are set up for success.
We'll also teach you family law down the track, but it's on the job learning and there's training guides to follow.
This team has strict service level agreement standards that need to be adhered to, the work is allocated to you daily and you'll need to manage your workload proactively.
It's important in this role that you take extra care when having conversations with members and their representatives, people are grieving and going through a very tough part of life, so when you convey what you need to, delicacy is the key and you need to ensure that you tell them the right information, the first time, every time.
We are looking for someone with insurance and/or super knowledge, someone with a hunger to learn and who wants to develop their career.
Ideally you have some claims assessment experience but it's not the be all and end all as we'll train you on the process on the job.
You'll need to have strong attention to detail, solid problem solving and exceptional communication skills, as we must ensure that only the right information is sent out to members and their representatives - so concise and accurate note taking skills will help keep you on top of your game.
Not afraid of challenging the status quo, you see problems as opportunities and love to find solutions to overcoming obstacles and sharing your insights with the team.
While you are driven, you're not one to sit there and not ask questions if you're not sure, and in the same vein, you're always prepared to share your expertise with those you work with.
If you have leadership aspirations, this is the perfect role for you as the team leaders are looking for someone who they can mentor, develop and grow within this space.
With your can-do attitude, willingness to learn and positive attitude, you're excited about this opportunity, and we'd love to hear from you.
