ABOUT THE HCCC


The Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC) is an independent statutory body (set up under the Health Care Complaints Act 1993) that plays a central part in maintaining the integrity of the NSW health system, with the overarching consideration of protecting the health and safety of individuals and the community.


ABOUT THE ROLE


The primary purpose of the Resolution Officer role is to impartially assist both complainants and health care providers to resolve outstanding issues raised in their complaint.


The role is also responsible for engaging with health services and consumers to promote the role of the Commission and best practice complaints management.

ABOUT YOU

  • Highlevel written and verbal communication skills, able to clearly explain and present ideas and arguments, and provide appropriate information and advice.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to develop rapport and maintain effective relationships with clients from varied backgrounds and experiences who may be angry, frustrated and distressed while managing their expectations.
  • Analyse complex information and exercise sound judgment including identifying and escalating any ongoing risks to public health and safety.
  • Well organised, able to balance competing priorities and a highvolume caseload, within legislative timeframes.
  • A strong communicator able to network extensively and deliver presentations to health services, health consumers and advocacy groups to promote the work of the Commission.

The selection process will include a comparative assessment to assist in determining your suitability for the role. This will include a behavioural based interview and online testing.


A talent pool may be created from this recruitment action for ongoing and temporary roles of the same work classification that may become available for filling over the next 18 months.

Essential requirements:


The successful applicant will be required to complete a Background Verification Check which includes a National Police Check (Criminal History), qualification check, and Working with Children's Check.


All employees of the HCCC are required to have received a COVID-19 vaccine or have an approved medical contraindication certificate.

You will be required to provide a record of your COVID-19 vaccination status if successful.
