Position Information:

Claremont Meadows Public School opened in 1997 and is in St Marys / Penrith area. In 2024 the student enrolment is 620+ inclusive of four Multi-categorical classes.

The school has a strong focus on professional development, leadership, teacher mentoring, and high expectations for all staff and students.

Our student population represents a wide range of cultures and backgrounds.

We are experiencing an increased need to support students where English is their second language (EAL/D) this is now 29% of the student population.

Our Aboriginal student enrolment is 8%. Our school is well equipped with air conditioning in all learning spaces through P&C funding. An Out of School Care (OOSH) service operates on the school site and is facilitated by the YMCA.

We promote an inclusive school environment, which is underpinned by Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) expectations where students are Safe, Respectful, Responsible Learners.


Selection Criteria:


In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary with the proven capacity to balance exemplary classroom practice with the complex responsibilities of a school leadership role.

Demonstrated capacity to build and sustain authentic partnerships with all stakeholders within the school and the wider community, to support our diverse school population ensuring every student is known, valued and cared for.

Demonstrated ability to lead evidence-informed literacy and numeracy practices to improve teaching, learning and assessment across the curriculum.

Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues to plan, teach and evaluate the impact of evidence-informed teaching strategies for improved student outcomes in literacy and numeracy across the curriculum.

Strategic skills to strengthen the capabilities of teachers and leaders to progress school wide literacy and numeracy priorities through effective collaboration.

Demonstrated ability to build a positive school culture and high expectations with the proven ability to implement, manage and lead well-being processes.


General Selection Criteria:


  • Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  • 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6.
Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
