Clerk Grade 7/8, ($101,947 to $112,849 pa), plus superannuation and other benefits


Your role


The Project Officer performs project management and support activities to contribute to the development and delivery of a range of enterprise governance projects in line with established objectives.

You will work across a variety of projects to support Programs to achieve outcomes. Working closely with all team members and stakeholders, providing advice on process improvement initiatives.


What you'll do

  • Provide a range of project management and support services which includes:
  • providing secretariat activities to DCJ Board subcommittees including scheduling and organising subcommittee meetings, managing logistics, diary management and follow up.
  • Draft reports, briefs and papers on enterprise governance issues, coordinating resources, maintaining project documentation.
  • Implement and monitor project plans to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time and within, budget, to a highquality standard and within agreed scope (in line with established agency governance methodology).
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation for reporting, monitoring and evaluation purposes to ensure accessibility of quality information and contribute to the achievement of project outcomes
  • Assist team members with specific projects and in the publication of Enterprise Governance tools and materials for use across DCJ
  • Communicate with key stakeholders and coordinate working groups, committees and consultations to facilitate exchange of information and support project completion in line with project plans
  • Source, collate and compile data and information to identify emerging issues and risks, track and report on project progress against established milestones and deliverables
  • Undertake research and analysis, identifying trends and preparing project briefs, to support informed decisionmaking and planning

What we're looking for

  • Delivering a range of governance, project management and support services, with tight deadlines, limited resources and the need to manage competing priorities.
  • Understanding of organisational governance principles and practices in the public sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to consult and liaise with a wide range of stakeholders (at all levels), to build strong collaborative relationships and drive mutual benefits and outcomes.
  • Attention to detail in creating and reviewing key operational documentation.
  • Flexibility and initiative and responding quickly when situations change.
  • Ability to prepare high level briefing notes with clear language and recommendations.

Essential requirements:


  • National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 201
  • Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 201
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience
  • Must be an Australian Citizen and able to acquire a National Security Clearance at NV1 level
