What you will be doing and will be responsible for:

Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, the Engagement Manager is responsible for leading a best-practice, comprehensive and multi-channel engagement strategy for Flinders Foundation supporters, precinct partners and the community.

In this role you will enjoy building and maintaining strong relationships and generating philanthropic support, through a relationship-based approach. The Engagement Manager will also lead a growing team.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and manage the implementation of donor engagement plans to support the broader fundraising program, including identifying new and innovative ways to engage with, recognise and thank donors.
  • Manage the implementation of Flinders Foundation's grateful patient, bequest and in loving memory programs.
  • Develop and manage the implementation of a comprehensive precinct engagement strategy to forge and strengthen relationships with clinicians, researchers and staffing groups across Flinders University and the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network, which aims to develop a culture of philanthropy.
  • Manage the endtoend planning and implementation of a variety of partnership and community fundraising activities and events.
  • Identify and engage with community groups, organisations and individual supporters to sponsor, donate, fundraise and host events for the benefit of Flinders Foundation, and manage all associated activities and communications.
  • Recruit, onboard and manage volunteers to assist with the coordination of communityrelated events and activities, in consultation with the Head of Operations.
  • Coordinate the use of the systems and online platforms associated with community fundraising activities, in consultation with the data and systems team.
  • Monitor and report on engagement strategies.
  • Maintain the integrity of all engagementrelated information in the Salesforce database, ensuring all records are accurate, comprehensive and up to date.
  • Contribute to income and audience growth in fundraising programs as part of annual and longterm organisational plans.
  • Live the values of Flinders Foundation through every interaction.
  • Build a culture of philanthropy through leadership, storytelling and inspiring others which contributes to improve performance for Flinders Foundation and its team members.

'What you look like' and need to demonstrate to be successful.

  • 5+ years' experience in a relationship management and/or donor engagement role
  • Proven success in managing relationships with financial outcomes
  • Demonstrated success in developing supporter/customer journeys and managing pipelines
  • Successful track record of effective stakeholder management including relationship building, onboarding, nurturing and delivery against objectives
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to relate well to different audiences
  • Proven organisational skills, ability to multitask, prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of reporting financial outcomes
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Creative and innovative thinker that uses diplomacy, drive and empathy in developing strategies
  • Demonstrated ability in customer service strategy implementation
  • Experience in project management and ability to deliver desired outcomes
  • Strong computer literacy skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Strong planning and preparation skills to deliver key presentations as required
