An exciting opportunity exists for a Ventilation Officer who strives to achieve high quality performance and results.

Appointed by, and accountable to, the Underground Mine Manager, the Ventilation Officer has an organisational reporting relationship with the Technical Services Manager.


The Role:


In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing and optimising the ventilation and gas management systems
  • Holding a strong commitment to safety and the safety performance of your crew
  • Leading and supervising personnel to meet and improve on planned targets and standards
  • Contributing to the daily plan, taking into consideration production strategy, systems, sequence, standards, and timeframes.
  • Providing specialist operational knowledge to ensure that all statutory requirements are met
  • Proactively maintain statutory and shift specific documentation, as well as the accurate collection of data
  • Influencing and maintaining a positive team culture

About you:


  • A minimum of 5 years' experience underground coal mining experience
  • A Mining Engineer qualification and QLD Ventilation officer certificate of competency
  • Previous experience with contractor management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Statutory qualifications of a 3rd Class Certificate of Competency is highly desirable
