An excellent Maternity Leave cover opportunity to provide counselling support services to clients in our clinic located at Villawood, NSW.

The Role:

The counsellor will provide counselling services in the Immigration Detention Facility through assessment, case formulation and case management, structured interview techniques and therapeutic interventions


Key responsibilities:

  • Facilitate group sessions on a diverse range of mental health topics
  • Provide health promotion education and activities
  • Provide assessment, counselling and casework services including support and referral services
  • Help to organise excursions or other activities of a proactive nature that will help with the wellbeing of the population
  • Ensure that documentation is accurate, precise and concise

Requirements:


  • Full working rights in Australia
  • Relevant qualifications and or experience in counselling, social welfare, education or social sciences
  • 3 years proven experience in the delivery of counselling services, case management and case coordination in mental health setting
  • Experience working in AoD areas or with individuals with AoD issues highly desirable
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or First Aid Certificate
