As a Manager in Credit provisioning team within Group Finance Advisory and Governance which is within the Financial Management Group of Macquarie, you will join a function focused on delivering value to our stakeholders and senior Finance leaders.

You will be involved in the delivery of end-to-end credit provisioning process, collaborating with teams across Financial Management Group and the broader Macquarie group.

Key Responsibilities


As a Manager in Credit Provisioning team based on Sydney, you will collaborate with teams across the Macquarie Group, to facilitate the end-to-end credit provisioning processes across the group.

This would cover both the operational and reporting aspects of the process. Specifically, you will have the following responsibilities

  • Full awareness of the systems used and ability to manage the large dataset within the system processing the credit provision of the group.
  • Financial accounting knowledge including understanding of the chart of accounts, scoping for credit provisioning, journaling process, posting, reconciliation and ledger review.
  • Coordinate the compilation and delivery of meaningful credit provisioning reports/analysis on a monthly and periodic basis as well as areas of judgement document related to credit provisioning.
- interact with key stakeholders in Risk, Finance, and the Business to support their requirements related to credit provisioning.

  • Be aware of the projects across the group and be involved in impact reviews and other activities including support for upgrade of the credit provision system through automation and process change initiatives.
  • Support the requirement of financial and regulatory reporting initiatives and new reporting requirements, working with numerous stakeholders to ensure the requirements are clearly understood and the information produced is accurate
  • Support the delivery of group finance data initiatives, including ensuring data requirements are understood and appropriate governance structures are in place to deliver timely and accurate data downstream
  • Partner with leadership in Group Finance, Risk Management and Business Finance to ensure an appropriate control environment is embedded across finance, identifying metrics which support the identification of emerging areas of risk.

Ideally you will have worked in financial services and have an exposure to credit provisioning and managed complex situations related to AASB9.

You will also possess:

  • A Commerce/Accounting degree and professional accounting qualifications.
  • Strong and effective communication skills, with a genuine willingness to collaborate across the group and ability to effectively manage the stakeholders at senior level.
  • Clear focus on risk and controllership
  • An adaptable analytical and agile mindset
  • Strong problem solving and good attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft packages including excel, PowerPoint etc as well as other reporting tools (like Alteryx and Power BI etc)
  • Experience supervising teams in a dynamic environment and a focus on development and growth of people working with you.
