The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity available for a Unit Head to join the EPA.

The Regulatory Operations Metropolitan North team provides day to day frontline services using regulation, advisory and other tools to protect the environment.

The work ranges from management of incidents and compliance with environment protection licences to investigations long term strategic projects. The Unit Head role is one of three in the section and reports to the Manager.


About you

  • Knowledge and experience in the implementation of relevant environmental legislation,
  • Experience in a relevant environmental management area e.g. catchments, industry, hazardous substances, contaminated site management, planning and/or local government.
  • Sound understanding of the workings of government at a state and local level.
  • Experience in liaising with a range of client or stakeholder groups to deliver environmentally sustainable outcomes.
  • Experience in managing staff and setting priorities.

About the team


Regulatory Operations Metropolitan North is a dedicated team of environmental regulators who work to protect the environment and people from harm through the management of licensed premises and investigation of environmental incidents and complaints.

If you are successful in the role, you will be working in a supportive, diverse, results driven team, who work across varied geographic areas across Sydney, Central Coast and Newcastle on significant environmental protection matters.
