Salary:
Clerk Grade 9/10 ($116,211 - $128,061 pa), plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role


As a Program Manager, you will be contributing to Workplace Design and Delivery at NSW Department of Communities and Justice.


The role manages and coordinates the development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of complex projects to achieve project outcomes and support the achievement of organisational objectives.

What you'll do


As part of the Workplace Transformation team, our Program Managers are critical to the design and delivery of safe, innovative and functional workplaces.


Our workplaces need to provide a safe, secure, inclusive and engaging workspace for our front-line staff to provide services to our clients.

With offices across the state, we provide Community Services, Housing & Homelessness, Youth Justice and Community Corrections services to the local community.


This is a crucial role within our workplace transformation team, contributing to the team to ensure high quality, inclusive, human centred and purposeful workplace design.

This is balanced with increasing pressure to budgets, delivering thoughtful sustainable solutions and the complexities of regional delivery.

Working in a team of project, design and strategy specialists, this role will contribute to the successful delivery of our multiyear program of transformational work.

This role is a temporary role up to 30 June 2024. Some flexibility in workplace location (NSW only) and working days may be supported. Some travel within regional NSW will be required.

As a team we actively support hybrid working with the flexibility to work from home and in the office (Parramatta).


What we're looking for

Program Manager - Program Delivery;

  • Experience in Workplace/Fitout Project Delivery will be highly regarded
  • Leading projects from endtoend including project planning, procurement, vendor and contract management, delivery and transition to BAU;
  • Conducting procurement activities including tender submissions and preparing tender evaluation reports;
  • Preparing & maintaining project documentation for reporting, monitoring & evaluating purposes and to drive project outcomes
  • Collaborating and negotiating with various teams to coordinate favourable outcomes for the program
  • Engaging with stakeholders to educate and communicate information regarding office relocations
  • Creating futureproof and best practice processes for the ongoing delivery of projects within the portfolio
  • Ability to consult and liaise with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels to build strong collaborative relationships and drive mutual benefits and outcomes.
  • Previous experience working in government is not essential

Program Manager - Design & Fitout (2 Positions Available);

  • You have previous experience in a role within workplace design and/or construction with a commitment to sustainable, inclusive and accessible design
  • You are able to provide examples of innovation and creativity in solving complex work problems, collaborating with multiple stakeholders to meet competing priorities and needs
  • You excel in building credible relationships, able to actively listen, understand and adjust your communication style to meet the needs of others
  • You can demonstrate your ability to be highly resilient and work well under pressure
  • You can undertake research and formulate design recommendations to support evidence based best practice and industry design standards
  • You can provide advice and information to stakeholders on emerging project issues and support project development and delivery in line with established plans, budgets, timeframes, policy objectives and other project and priorities
  • Previous experience working in government is not essential
