About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Manager to join our team.
As the West Swanson Terminal Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for managing the safe, productive, and efficient operation of the Maintenance and Engineering functions at DP World Melbourne.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountability and responsibility for performance of the Engineering function
- People leadership
- Set, drive, meet or exceed budget targets for operational costs
- Ensure full compliance with OHS&E statutory requirements
- Lead by example in the execution of safe work practices and ensure continual identification and management of hazards
- Demonstrate cost consciousness in all areas of work
- Set, drive, meet or exceed budget targets for operational costs
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
To achieve success in this role, you will demonstrate the following skills & experience:
- Tertiary engineering qualification or advanced trade qualification in mechanical or electrical discipline
- Minimum of ten years' experience in maintenance management
- Extensive experience in the management of heavy equipment workshops and with automated machinery
- Strong leadership experience in managing large scale 24x7 operations
- Industrial relations management experience in unionised environments
- Experience working within the container or bulk ports sector or similar industry preferred
- Sound understanding of financial and management accounting with previous experience in managing P&L responsibilities
- Extensive knowledge of heavy plant and equipment, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance management plans and techniques
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Acts, regulations, codes of practice and risk management procedures
