Job location


Forensicare provides specialist forensic mental health services across 12 of Victoria's 14 prisons with expansion underway to include Western Plains in the Barwon region.

Potentially based across multiple sites, our mobile forensic mental health service provides mental health treatment to prisoners experiencing mental ill-health, as well as an outpatient clinic service and initial reception assessments at Metropolitan Remand Centre.

This service also provides outpatient services to Barwon, Marngoneet and Kareenga prisons.


About the Role:


Ward Clerks across Prison Services Forensic Mental Health Services across prison services provide high quality administrative support to the multi-disciplinary teams working within the service, working under the direction of the relevant Program/ Unit Manager.

Health Information Manager will provide Health Information support and guidance as required.


Duties:


  • Be responsible for the efficient collation and maintenance of patient health records andinformation in accordance withForensicare and Justice Health policies, procedures andguidelines.
  • Assist with the registration, admission and discharge of patients on the Statewide mental healthcomputer system known as CMI/RAPID ensuring a high level of data entry accuracy.
  • Maintain patient lists, and ensure all relevant documentation for admissions, transfers andseparations are completed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain the medical record tracking system and requests medical records as necessary.

About You:


  • Demonstrated commitment to mental health consumer recovery.
  • Knowledge of the Statewide mental health system known as RAPID.
  • Previous experience working within a health care setting would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Tertiary or technical college qualifications are desirable.
  • Ability to provide a range of administrative support services.
