About the Section:

We have a diverse range of responsibilities across all schemes administered by the Clean Energy Regulator.

We analyse and communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner for internal and external audiences to inform policy development.

We work with internal and external stakeholders on the development and implementation of new initiatives in energy and emissions reduction policy areas.


Our functions include:

  • Developing and delivering priority projects for the agency, including the Corporate Emissions Reduction Transparency (CERT) report.
  • Influencing the direction of potential new schemes and policies that align with the objectives and functions of the agency, through advice and discussion with policy agencies.
  • Undertaking a range of ongoing activities that support the agency, such as environmental scanning and engaging on emerging domestic and international frameworks for voluntary and mandatory climaterelated reporting and disclosure.
  • Building and maintaining productive partnerships with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, the Department of the Treasury, and key energy and carbon market organisations.

Role responsibilities and duties:

As the Manager, you will lead the section and will:

  • Work closely with your assistant managers and senior executives to lead the agency's role in relation to climate-related disclosures and delivery of the annual CERT report, including:
  • High level policy analysis, advice and support.
  • High quality written material, including briefs, reports, guidance, and correspondence.
  • Lead and manage the section, including building team capability through the provision of coaching, performance feedback and encouraging career development.
  • Organise and represent the agency at various forums and lead elements of policy design.

Qualifications/experience:


The position will suit experienced managers and leaders who are good at interacting with external and internal stakeholders and dealing positively with uncertainty and coping effectively in an environment characterised by change.


Knowledge of, or experience in, the Australian energy / climate markets, corporate sustainability reporting and/or agency schemes will be highly regarded.

Relevant qualifications include, but are not limited to, policy, law, regulation, engineering, finance, economics, environmental studies and sustainability.
