The Opportunity
Due to an internal promotion, Fonterra Australia has an exciting opportunity for a Portfolio Manager - Cream and Skim Products, to join our Australia Portfolio Management Team

Located on the fringe of Melbourne City, this highly visible and career defining role is based at our modern Richmond head office, which operates a hybrid work model, also providing regular opportunities to work from home (WFH).

In this Portfolio Management role, you will be looked to for trusted guidance on product, channel and pricing objectives, while balancing short-term trading gains with long-term value realisation for Fonterra.

The over-arching objective is to maximise value and returns from every drop of Fonterra Australia's milk

Reporting to the GM Australia Portfolio Management, this varied and challenging role will see you develop and deliver through annual product portfolio plans for Fonterra Australia's Cream and Skim Products, including their associated derivatives, and our growing portfolio of formulated commodity powders.

In addition to oversight of the Cream and Skim portfolios, you will also directly manage export sales from Australia of the associated products through Fonterra's large and geographically diverse global sales network.

This provides an opportunity to directly interface with, and develop Fonterra Australia's international markets, customers, and product portfolios.

Day to day you will be:

Working closely with domestic sales teams, and AU planning teams to ensure portfolio alignment and communication on commercial objectives for Fonterra Australia's Cream and Skim portfolios.
Working closely with global sales teams, and NZ product portfolio management to maintain close alignment on price and supply management for the associated AU exports and imports.
Acting as a trusted advisor businesswide to provide direction and guidance across all portfolio planning horizons and solve complex optimisation scenarios to deliver sustainable value to the Co-Op

About You

Key to your success in this role will be operating with an enterprise mindset, backed by keen commercial acumen and a proven ability to successfully navigate ambiguity in a complex environment.

With well-honed stakeholder management skills, you will also have demonstrable experience with strong and effective commercial coordination across key stakeholders, across multiple levels, and multiple markets.

You will have a proven track record of delivering repeatable and high-quality sales outcomes for customers and businesses, as well as proven experience in complex problem solving.

To be successful in the role, the following would be preferred:

Tertiary qualifications
Degree in Business / Finance or similar
Minimum 5+ years working in Dairy sales, supply chain or other associated roles
Demonstrated understanding of dairy products and export supply chains
Demonstrated awareness of dairy markets and dairy economics
Proven track record in building highly effective relationships with key stakeholders
