Your new role


We are seeking a proactive and innovative Librarian to join our friendly Library team, and undertake a varied range of professional tasks.

You will have the opportunity to develop new ways to provide resources, services and facilities, to support teaching, learning and research.

You will also support online services and participate in Library projects.


This includes:

  • Provide an information service to clients using appropriate technologies.
  • Report on the potential of new services and emerging technologies to meet client needs.
  • Lead, plan, deliver and evaluate skills programs and materials to support the development of graduate capabilities by Curtin students.
  • Coordinate the spaces in the Library and manage bookings.
  • Train, coordinate and supervise staff as required.
  • Provide a range of research support services and research skills development.
  • Lead or contribute to Library initiatives, team planning, working parties and teams.
  • Streamline workflows to ensure ongoing efficiencies as a continuous improvement outcome.
  • Effectively communicate and promote Library services.

About you

  • Completion of a professional qualification in librarianship recognised for associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association, combined with relevant work experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of diverse groups and individuals.
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well within a team situation and the ability to coordinate team activities or project work.
  • Ability to work independently, proactively and flexibly in a changing environment; manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing high quality, client focussed services and innovative problem solving.
