About the role
Responsible for the culture which ensures safety and wellbeing is embedded as our fundamental way of working.
The Safety Culture Manager works with the business, production and administrative leaders and teams to build accountability and responsibility for our collective and individual safety.
What you'll do
- Provide advice and support to senior level management and business pillars regarding SHE and Injury Management programs, policies, and processes.
- Support the development and implementation of the SHE Strategy and assist with the local coordination of safety, health, and wellbeing and environmental initiatives.
- Ensure SHE processes are implemented at site level establishing a culture of 'Safety as a Core Value'.
- Work with the Injury Management Advisor, to set the strategy for Workers Compensation claims management, including the identification and upskilling of pillar return to work coordinators, implementation, and effective care and rehabilitation of injured employees.
- Proactively manage safety, health, and environmental risk and to coach and build this capability in others.
- Oversee compliance to relevant training needs analysis / matrices as required.
- Promote leadership to include key performance indicators for their direct reports for the completion of SHE Conversations to reinforce the right behaviour and contribute to a safe culture in all pillars.
- Liaise with regulators to notify of required incidents, including liaison with relevant pillar leaders to close out improvement and other notices.
- Conduct audits to verify that compliance and behaviour is in line with the SHE Management System and work with pillar leads and sites to develop action plans to address identified opportunities.
What you'll bring
- Must have previous experience in a safety leadership position preferably in FMCG, Warehousing, Distribution and Supply Chain
- Tertiary qualifications in SHE or a related discipline
- ICAM Lead Investigator Certification
- SHE Lead Auditor Certification
- Proven ability to work effectively with line management to build capability and safety leadership.
- Solutions provider, innovator thinker with a continuous improvement mindset
- Proven capability in Injury/Claims Management with preference for Return to Work Coordinator Certification
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft computerbased software programs.
