This is an exciting opportunity for a true generalist in human resources to join our team of People & Culture (P&C) Business Partners.

This position will be responsible for providing operational and strategic advice to senior and executive leaders of the University and will contribute to business strategies, planning and delivery by recommending and implementing initiatives that will optimise workforce performance and culture.


The position will also provide advice and solutions across all areas of People & Culture, embracing employee and industrial relations, performance optimisation, talent acquisition and management, learning and development, organisational change design and effectiveness.

They will do this by drawing on their own extensive experience and the expertise from other People & Culture teams and Centres of Excellence.


This opportunity will ideally suit a HR professional who is looking to take a step up and support executive and senior leaders at Swinburne University.


About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Extensive experience in a Business Partnering role and strong understanding of contemporary HR practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify business needs and develop People & Culture plans.
  • Experience working in a unionised and complex environment.
  • Sound knowledge of employment legislation and experience in interpreting Awards, Enterprise Agreements, policies and procedures.
  • Experience in successful dispute resolution, performance management, grievance handling and mediation.

Qualifications
Degree or Postgraduate qualification in Human Resources or a related field such as Business.
