TMS Clinician - Registered and Enrolled Nurses
Northpark Private Hospital is well known as one of the leading private hospitals in the northern suburbs of Melbourne.

The mental health team at Northpark Private Hospital offer a range of quality inpatient and outpatient day programs for people experiencing mental ill health.

One of the treatment options offered at Northpark Private is Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).


Northpark is one of the only homes in Victoria of the Neurosoft TMS machine with the advanced Neural Navigator Essentials system that uses MRI mapping to locate the Dorsolateral Prefrontal Cortex of the brain more effectively hence improving the efficacy of the treatment.


We are seeking Registered and Enrolled Nurses with experience in the mental health field and training in TMS to administer treatment to our patients who have been referred to have TMS as part of their inpatient or outpatient treatment program.

This position will be attractive for nurses who would prefer a work life balance away from the ward, working in a relaxed setting.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Administer TMS treatments
  • Maintain high quality clinical notes
  • Assist Psychiatrists in assessments and feedback on patient progress
  • Assist the TMS Director with TMS treatment calibrations
  • Liaise with nursing staff and referring doctors for care coordination

Skills & Experience

  • To be successful in the role you will:
  • Have a current APHRA registration
  • Have completed TMS training
  • Have current certificate in basic life support
  • Background in mental health nursing
  • Have a strong interest in mental health, and a flexible approach to working hours to meet treatment requirements
  • Be able to work autonomously and collaboratively while administering TMS
  • Strong consumer focus and ability to engage with patients and their families constructively in a therapeutic framework
  • Good computer skills e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and ability to quickly learn computer programs

About us:


Northpark Private Hospital is undergoing a significant renovation and will provide 73 Mental Health beds, inclusive of Early Parenting and Baby sleep settling beds, to the local community.

In addition, we have recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of our Maternity Unit which has 12 Post Natal beds and 3 birthing suites, as well as operating a 20-bed Surgical inpatient ward and 4 Operating Theatres.


Nearby LaTrobe Private, which is co-located with La Trobe University, has recently undergone a significant redevelopment and successfully opened its doors to our community on 5 February this year.

La Trobe boasts 4 new Operating theatres, a 34 bed inpatient ward and a total of 23 Consulting Suites. Imaging and pathology are also onsite and a new Café is coming soon
