Position Information:

Walters Road PS is located on Darug land in Blacktown. Walters Road PS is a K-6 school with 2 inclusive classes.

Our school has approximately 520 students enrolled. Our student body is comprised of 58% EALD learners and 5% Aboriginal students. The main languages spoken in homes include Arabic, Hindi, Punjabi and Tagalog. Our Family Occupation Education Index is presently 93.


The school is set on a large area and as a result students have large green spaces t play and run.

The school facilities are used before and after school by community users.


Walters Road PS distinguishes itself as an explicit teaching school with a strong emphasis on clear and direct instruction, aiming to make concepts and schema transparent and accessible to all learners.

Current priorities of the school include literacy and numeracy, student wellbeing including case management and school culture.


Selection Criteria:

Approval to teach primary English as a second language.


Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a team to support the literacy and English language skills of EAL/D students using knowledge of the ESL scales and the EAL/D learning progressions.

Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and community.
