Office of General Counsel

  • Permanent/continuing, parttime appointment (28 hours per week)
  • Level 6/7: $84,793 $104,996 (pro rata) + 17% superannuation


The Office of General Counsel has primary responsibility for management of the University's legal and information compliance functions in pursuit of the University's strategic goals.

In consultation with General Counsel, the Legal Operations Coordinator will be responsible for identifying and implementing enhancements to legal operations and knowledge management within the Legal Services Unit (LSU), as well as managing those areas on an ongoing basis.


This will include a focus on:
- improving efficiency and effectiveness of LSU, increasing LSU's capacity and ability to service its clients, through developing and implementing legal operations tools including reporting, process mapping and process improvement and automation;
- moving UOW to the NSW Government Legal Panel and maintaining UOW's processes under that panel;
- improving LSU's approach to knowledge and matter management, including through optimising the use of a document and matter management system; and
- responsibility for aspects of 1 st line risk management within LSU.


Reporting directly to the General Counsel, the Legal Operations Coordinator will work together with the Deputy General Counsel, Legal Operations and Administration Officer and LSU team members, creating an environment of continuous improvement.
