What are we looking for?
Our National Abuse team is growing, and we are now seeking a Junior Legal Assistant to join our Ashfield office.
As a valued member of this team, you will help support our Lawyers as they advance civil claims on behalf of our clients who have been abused as children in schools, juvenile detention facilities, and in other institutional settings.
This role will offer flexible work arrangements, a 1:1 working partnership supporting a lawyer or law clerk within a very busy practice.
A typical day will often look like this:
- Providing a great level of care and support to our clients in a professional manner
- Supporting the team with general files management and administration
- Coordinating appointments for our lawyers, medicolegal appointments for our clients, conferences and mediations
- Communicating with clients, insurers and other professionals both in writing and verbally
- Preparing legal correspondence and compiling court documents
Ideally you will have previous experience as an assistant, personal assistant or legal secretary, particularly in the area of personal injury law, together with the following skills and attributes:
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills
- A willingness to learn
- Excellent attention to detail
- Demonstrated organisation skills and the ability to multitask
- Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
- Proactive approach and initiative
- A willingness to learn
- Available to work 38 hours per week, between the hours of 8:30am 5pm Monday to Friday
