Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in a range of property maintenance activities, such as minor painting and decorating repairs and upgrade to sustain Campus compliance.
  • Completing operational and administrative tasks correctly and on time. Including the use of powered and nonpowered hand tools.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills to liaise with FSS staff and contractors.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Balances team and individual responsibilities by exhibiting objectivity and openness to others' views.
  • Knowledge of or ability to follow policies and procedures, with a focus on workplace health and safety.
Qualifications, registrations and other requirements

  • Trade qualifications are not a prerequisite, however previous exposure to building and facilities maintenance or a related trade would be seen as advantageous.
  • Current Drivers Licence is essential.
  • Be physically fit as some heavy lifting may be required.
  • It may be a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against one or more of the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment (Health Employment Directive No. 01/16): measles, mumps, rubella (MMR),varicella (chicken pox),pertussis (whooping cough),hepatitis B, tuberculosis
  • COVID19 Vaccination may be required, It may be a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against COVID19 (Health Employment Directive No. 12/21 and Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70).
